October Book Display: Black History Month

Our book display for the month of October celebrates Black History Month. We have books covering topics ranging from slavery to the underground railroad, from Martin Luther King Jr. to Malcolm X, from theMontgomerybus boycotts to Brown vs. the Board of Education, from the birth of the NAACP to Barack Obama’s historic presidential campaign.

And, speaking of Barack Obama, have you booked your place yet for the first talk in our lecture series on American life and culture? “You Say Obama, I Say Osama, Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off: Race and US Foreign Policy Today” occurs this Tuesday 27th September, 6:30pm–7:30pm here in the Memorial Library. Tickets are free and can be reserved by calling 01603 774747 or emailing 2admemorial.lib@norfolk.gov.uk
