Our discussion of Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn on Monday 10th October is now fully booked! If you would like to be added to the waiting list, please contact the Memorial Library at 2admemorial.lib@norfolk.gov.uk or 01603 774747.
For those not joining us, we have a new book display featuring books that have been challenged or even banned at some point since their publication in one or more countries internationally–not necessarily in the UK. (For a list of frequently challenged books in the US, click here.) All of the books featured are legally published in the UK and are widely available to borrow from libraries. A random sample of American literature on display includes: John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath, Ken Kesey’s One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Ernest Hemingway’s A Farewell to Arms, Upton Sinclair’s The Jungle, and Zora Neale Hurston’s Their Eyes Were Watching God.
