Lecture Series in American Life and Culture

Our sincere thanks to Professor Yvonne Tasker for an extremely interesting talk on how Hollywood celebrated military women during World War II on Tuesday evening. The film clips were absolutely fascinating, and we were sorry to have to cut the question and answer session short!

The fourth and final talk in our 2011 lecture series will be on Tuesday 6 December, when Dr. Olly Gruner will be joining us to talk about “‘All the News That’s Fit to Sing’: Politics and Protest in American Folk Music, 1940-1965” from 6.30 to 7.30. The talk is free, but places are limited, so please contact us to reserve a seat at 2adMemorial.lib@norfolk.gov.uk or 01603 774747.

If you have booked a seat and no longer plan on attending, please let us know. We have had a long waiting list for the previous lectures, and we don’t like turning people away!
