Well, the Season of Sugar is upon us. Of all the toothache-inducing confections of the American Easter celebrations, the most culturally profound (and least acceptable to dieticians) is the Peep. Peeps are bunny or chick-shaped marshmallows, coated in fluorescent sugar and packed in neat little rows for shipping. Kids love to eat them. Teenagers love to eat them AND explode them in the microwave. Adults are divided: some still love them, and some recognize the horror.
