Summer Reading: Gone With the Wind

Set against the historical backdrop of the American Civil War and Reconstruction, the historical epic Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell is a tale of a nation mortally divided. It is the love story of beautiful, ruthless Scarlet O’Hara and the dashing soldier of fortune, Rhett Butler.

Why it’s good summer reading: It’s long (975 pages!), but it reads quickly, and Rhett Butler is quite dashing.
