Annual Memorial Service at St. Paul’s Cathedral

Each year in November, the 2nd Air Division Memorial Trust governors, library staff, family, and friends gather in the American Chapel at St. Paul’s Cathedral for a private remembrance service, followed by Evensong in the choir and dinner.

It is a cherished opportunity for our trans-Atlantic colleagues to gather together in a beautiful sacred space to honour the legacy of the USAAF in Britain.

We have been particularly honoured for the last several years to be joined by 2nd Air Division veteran pilot Mr. Charles Walker (445th Bomb Group, Tibenham) who, with his wife Dede, continues to make the long annual journey from Texas at the age of 94.

One of our two UEA American Scholars, Kate, joined the festivities again this year, serving as photographer. Please take a look and read on!
