Design Your Own Assembly Ship Competition! Ages 0-11 years.

  B24 Assembly Ship

Assembly Ships were used by the Liberator B-24 bomber groups of the US 8th Air Force’s 2nd Air Division, whose airfields were located around Norwich during World War Two. They were brightly colored and highly decorated so they could be seen easily. The distinct and creative markings on each Assembly Ship helped pilots and crews recognize their specific groups & positions in the air.

What would your Assembly Ship look like?

Our competition gives you the chance to design your very own Assembly Ship and the chance to win some prizes! Need some inspiration? Stop by the Memorial Library (in the Norfolk & Norwich Millennium Library at the Forum) to take a look at some of our model Assembly Ships.
